Listen to interactive stories from other cultures and create a mask to take home. Nicolette Nordin Heavey has been a professional storyteller and teaching artist for over 15 years. She lived a storied childhood living and traveling in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Characters inspired by her international upbringing spring to life in her re-telling of folktales and personal stories.  Nicolette is an artist in residence at schools in Andover and Lawrence, Massachusetts. In 2012 she founded a program called Stories in the Streets, a literacy outreach program that brings storytellers to public venues primarily in at-risk communities. This program meets the needs of the Board of Education's Coordinated Family and Community Engagement grant promoting early literacy development.
