We hope you will join us for this special program with former police officer, Dana Owen. Dana will be here in person but if you prefer to zoom, you may register to do so. Dana,  who served as a Police Officer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, tells the true story of how he pursued a hijacked United States Postal truck - with a hostage inside. During the chase, he was shot in the head...twice.

About the book:  In his book, Dana recounts the chase, the shooting and his recovery. He describes how he ‘unofficially’ investigated his shooting on his own, for four years. Just before the statute of limitations was about to expire, the U.S. Postal Inspectors encouraged Dana to join their team, and officially assigned him to the investigation. We learn what was so valuable in the Postal truck, how the suspects were identified and whether the gang members, involved in other unprosecuted robberies and a murder, will be prosecuted for the mail hijacking and for shooting Dana. Woven into the main theme, and unrelated to the search for these felons, are vignettes, describing Dana’s other experiences as a cop, one of which is particularly touching.
