Open Play at the Library (Ages 0-5)

Renowned psychologist Jean Piaget notes, “Play is the work of childhood.” and Mr. Rogers bolstered this statement by stating “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning.” Support the young child in your life and drop in for Open Play at the Langley-Adams Library!

This unstructured open play program for little ones and caregivers provides space and opportunity for social interaction with community families. Children practice problem-solving, social skills, imaginative play and critical thinking when given moments to wonder and experiment without instruction. Developmentally-appropriate books and toys will be provided for open-ended, hands-on play in a safe space. Open to ages 0-5 with a caregiver. Be sure to check out some good books before or after in the Children's Room.
